Macelwane Park Festival of Trees

The Macelwane Park Festival of Trees is going VIRTUAL this year!

Out of an abundance of caution, the City of Toledo has asked that we alter our plans for the Macelwane Festival of Trees. We want to spread holiday cheer, not Covid so we will be taking the celebration online.

Visit the “Macelwane Park – Toledo” Facebook page or YouTube Sunday, December 6 anytime after 3 p.m. for your opportunity to see the uniquely decorated trees from the comfort of your own sofa! No need to worry about the weather or frozen toes! Santa's elves have busy taking photos of the decorated trees so we can create a video for everyone to enjoy. Rumor has it... Old St. Nick himself MAY even make a guest appearance to tell you how this special project got started and why your support is so important! So make a mug of hot cocoa (spike it if you want), grab your family and catch the holiday vibe. These are works of art that your spectacular friends and neighbors have created. ENJOY! Heck, watch it again whenever you like.

If seeing all these beautiful trees inspires you but you just don't have time to do it yourself, visit the Macelwane Park Festival of Trees auction site on Biddingowl.com. Seven special trees have been decorate and will be auctioned to raise funds for improvements at Macelwane Park. Local artists Kim Nelson, Ellen Koeberlein and Dustin and Jemma Hostetler have decorated trees. Designer Debbie Jacoby, Jupmode, Black Kite Coffee and Toledo Spirits and the City of Toledo Park and Recreation Department have also decorated trees to be auctioned. Several other handcrafted holiday decorations will also be available. All auction items will be posted by Sunday, December 6 and bidding will close Monday, December 7 at 7 PM.

Bidding will open Dec. 6th. The auction will close on Dec. 7 at 7 PM.

Thank you to EVERYONE who purchased one or more of the trees to support improvements at Macelwane Park. We sold out!

A HUGE “Thank you” to the volunteer tree builders - Joseph Patay, Jeff Mills, Darrell Winkelman, Kim Nelson, Ellen Koeberlein and our technical advisors Norman and Susie Burghardt for their work creating a forest of 63 trees for the Macelwane Park fundraiser.

By making our Festival virtual, we hope even MORE folks can share our holiday spirit, view the parade of trees and bid online! Stay warm and stay safe! Happy Holidays.
